KR Hire

Terms of Hire

These Terms of Hire apply to all equipment hired from KR Hire. By hiring equipment from us, you agree to the following conditions. These terms are intended as a general guide and may be updated from time to time. Please contact the depot for clarification where required.

1Identification & Account Requirements

All hires require valid identification and confirmation of address. Business customers may be required to open a credit account or provide purchase order details prior to hire.

KR Hire reserves the right to refuse hire where adequate identification or payment arrangements are not provided.

2Hire Period & Off-Hire

The hire period begins when equipment leaves our depot or is delivered to site.

The hire period continues until:

  • The equipment is returned to our depot, or
  • the machine has been off-hired by a member of the KR Hire team.

Off-hire must be confirmed directly with the depot. Equipment left on site without formal off-hire notification will continue to incur hire charges.

Minimum hire periods may apply.

3Delivery & Collection

Delivery and collection are available across Monaghan and the North East region.

Delivery/collection charges depend on:

  • Location
  • Machine size
  • Access conditions

The customer is responsible for ensuring safe access for delivery and collection vehicles. If roadside delivery is required and agreed upon, it the hirers responsibility to provide a handover person to meet the driver and take responsibility for the machine/equipment.

4Condition of Equipment on Return

All equipment must be returned in the condition it was supplied:

  • Clean and free from excessive dirt or debris
  • Refuelled where applicable
  • With all attachments and accessories

Cleaning charges and fuel charges will apply where machines are returned in an unsatisfactory condition.

5Safe Use & Operator Responsibility

The customer is responsible for ensuring that:

  • Equipment is operated by competent and trained personnel
  • The machine is used only for its intended purpose
  • Ground conditions are suitable and safe
  • All relevant health and safety regulations are followed

Guidance or familiarisation can be provided on request, but responsibility for safe operation remains with the hirer.

6Breakdown & Mechanical Issues

In the event of mechanical breakdown:

  • Stop using the machine immediately
  • Contact the depot as soon as possible

Normal wear and mechanical failure are covered. Damage caused by misuse, negligence, overloading or incorrect operation is chargeable to the hirer.

No repairs should be carried out without prior approval from KR Hire.

7Damage, Loss & Insurance

The hirer is responsible for the equipment from the time it leaves our depot until it is returned or collected.

The hirer is liable for:

  • Damage
  • Theft
  • Loss
  • Vandalism

Full replacement costs may apply in cases of loss or theft.

Customers are advised to ensure appropriate insurance cover is in place during the hire period.

8Payment Terms

Payment terms will be agreed at the time of hire.

  • Cash and card hires are payable in advance.
  • Account customers must adhere to agreed credit terms.
  • Late payments may result in suspension of hire facilities.

KR Hire reserves the right to charge interest on overdue accounts in accordance with Irish commercial practice.

9Cancellations

Cancellations must be made as early as possible.

Where delivery has already been scheduled or completed, delivery/collection charges may still apply.

10Availability

While every effort is made to supply the requested machine, KR Hire reserves the right to provide a suitable equivalent where necessary.
